Old West Shootout Schedule
Experience an Old West Shootout aboard the 1880 Train! Conflicts between lawmen and bad guys were an important part of the story of the Wild West, and here’s your chance to experience a recreation of history and legend right on the spot. Sunday evening shootouts begin at the Hill City Station where danger is in the air! It's a good thing the sheriff is in town!
Note: All Old West Shootout riders must depart from Hill City at 5:00 pm. Shootout special event trains cannot be combined with Keystone departures or earlier departures. The shootout performance occurs alongside the middle of the stopped train about halfway between Hill City and Keystone. The train ride to Keystone resumes once the performance is completed!
Stop into the High-Liner Eatery for dinner before the Shootout. You can dine before the ride on the covered patio or take your packaged meals on board the train. Light concessions (popcorn, candy bars, and drinks) are also available for cash sale throughout the train ride. For the adults, a selection of local South Dakota beer and wine is available in the Hill City depot and can be enjoyed onboard the train.
Tickets
$49 Adults
$29 Children (2-12)
1 and under ride free if they sit on a lap
Passengers must arrive in advance to check in with ticket agent and pick up tickets in the Hill City Depot. Tickets are listed under the last name given at the time reservation was made.
Departures
All Departures are automatically round-trip from Hill City:
June 8, 15, 22, 29 – 5:00 pm
July 6, 13, 20, 27 – 5:00 pm
August 17, 31 – 5:00 pm
Seating
Seating is assigned. In order to sit together, all passengers must be under ONE reservation. When making reservations online, you may select your own seats. Please ensure you have the final count of your party when making your reservation and selecting seat assignments. Seating assignments cannot be changed once selected or assigned. Guests who add on to a reservation at a later date are not guaranteed a seat with your party. Infants 0-1 must be held on a lap. If you would like them to have their own seat, or would like to bring their car seat, a child’s ticket must be purchased.
Cancellation Policy
Credit card is charged at time of reservation. Like any ticketed event, all sales are final and no refunds or cancellations are offered unless ticketed train does not operate.
